I have to go to Indianapolis for a business trip on Monday, which is nifty, as I’ve never done more than drive through Indy on my way to other places.
What is less than nifty is the fact that I’ll be hanging it up on my internet addiction while I’m there. The hotel, which shall remain nameless *cough* Sheraton *cough*, somehow provides cheap enough rooms for my employer to be willing to fork over the dough for them but charges $12 a day for internet access in the room.
Dude, the Holiday Inn down the street provides it — and breakfast! — for free!
Maybe a week without instant connectivity will do me some good. I suspect that I spend far too much time attached at the hip to a computer for it to be healthy. Not that I really mind, but there are probably other things I could be doing with my time. Like reading those books I checked out from the library. Or cooking. Except that if I can’t get online to find new, free recipes, what am I going to cook? Cookbooks are expensive! Free recipes are… free! Obviously I must have the internet.
I haven’t even left yet, and I’m getting the shakes. This will not be pretty.
